Particularly in France, autumn is the season of the braderie – huge flea market events that take over entire cities, such as the hugely popular Braderie de Lille.

From the United Kingdom to Italy, with a few stops in France, Belgium, Germany, and Switzerland, we picked and ranked from #14 to #1 our favorite autumn flea markets around Europe which will be taking place between 23rd September and 22nd December 2022.
#14. Auer Dult (Germany)
Hosting over 300 stalls, the Auer Dult flea market is one of the largest jumble sales in Munich and a unique place in which you can search for rarities and curiosities from the old days. The Auer Dult welcomes 300,000 visitors in the course of the year and is nowadays considered to be one of the largest crockery markets in Europe.
With so much to choose from at the Auer Dult, it is obvious why visitors come again and again during the 9-day long fair. It is the only way to make sure you have had a good look at all the antiques and curios available! Visitors will find rare books, haberdashery goods, crockery, silverware, glassware, kitchen utensils, vintage design furniture, traditional German beer mugs, old prints, household items, ornaments, toys, stamps, coins, war memorabilia and so much more. #13. Grande Brocante de la Place Viarme (France)
For antique hunters, strolling down rue Jean-Jaurès and seeing its many bric-à-brac shops, antique stores, and art galleries is a must. However, none of those compare to its flea market on Place Viarme, the emblematic site in Nantes’ city center.
Held over three days in early May and on the last weekend of September or early October, the Grande Brocante de la Place Viarme gathers more than 160 professionals antique traders selling a large variety of antique merchandises and vintage garments, ranging from antique furniture to quirky nautical, crockery, china, silverware, laces, embroidery, postcards, dishes, paintings, jewelry, old books, vintage glassware, porcelain, antique coffeemakers, antique toys, vinyl, trinkets, pedestal tables, chairs, sofas, as well as local Quimper ceramics and much, much more.

#11. Fête de la Brocante Le Landeron (Switzerland)
Once a year over the last weekend in September, the tiny village of Le Landeron in Switzerland transforms into the country’s largest antiques’ flea market, the Fête de la Brocante Le Landeron. Since it is a rather special, annual event, it attracts sellers and shoppers from all over the world. Over 300 antique dealers make the journey to Le Landeron to sell their wares at this amazing festival, and over 100,000 people attend the three-day event.
With both traders and buyers preparing year-round for this event, the Fête de la Brocante Le Landeron is obviously the pinnacle of antique collections in Switzerland. The types of items that can be found at the Fête de la Brocante Le Landeron are incredibly wide-ranging and it is not just antique for sale. Every kind of household item from random knick-knacks to furniture is for sale, alongside quality vintage goods.

#10. Brocante de Durtal (France)
One of the last outdoor antique fair of this scale and quality in western France. The Brocante de Durtal gathers around 450 flea market exhibitors and 20,000 bargain hunters from nearby regions. Spreading along the walls of the city’s castle, the Durtal flea market fair is famous for the freshness, abundance, and quality of its merchandise.
The Rendez-vous international de la Curiosité et de la Brocante de Durtal is one of the last outdoor antique fairs of this scale and quality in western France, and one of the few remaining in the country. Bargain hunters come as far as Spain, Italy, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, the UK, the US, and even Japan to attend this event and try their luck at bringing home something unique.

The Foire de Chatou Antiques Fair near Paris is one of the most important antiques and collectibles fair in France. An institution on its own, the Foire de Chatou Antiques Fair brings together twice a year in October and March, more than 700 dealers from all over the country, and welcomes 35,000 visitors over 12 days.
Formerly known as the Foire à la Brocante et aux Jambons (Flea market and Hams Fair), the Foire de Chatou Antiques Fair also highlights French gastronomy. Dozens of farmers from around France offer a rich gastronomic journey to all visitors: while pig and deli remain in the spotlight, other traditional French products, such as oysters, foie gras, and wine can be enjoyed on site.

#8. I Grandi mercati di Cherasco (Italy)
The Grandi mercati di Cherasco is a huge antique market, with more than 600 vendors attending and selling their wares over 5km of the sidewalk, and 25,000 visitors. This antique market owes its fame and fortune to the enchanting setting: a beautifully preserved historic town center full of art, culture, and respect for the past, which makes a perfect setting for an antique market.
As well as the main antique and collectibles market at the Grandi mercati di Cherasco, there are also specialized fairs and additional themed markets that accompany it and add to the charm and splendor of this event. Themes range from antique furniture, and vintage home decor, to ceramic and glass art, retro furniture from the 60s to the 90s, toy and modeling, book and paper, and artistic crafts.

Set to take place on the first Sunday of October, the Braderie de Houilles is a major flea market fair gathering around 2,000 exhibitors and 300,000 visitors over 6 miles of sidewalks.
There are tons of second-hand items on sale at the Braderie de Houilles, but there are also many stalls filled with random stuff including old kitchen appliances, clothes, shoes, furniture, blankets, mobile phone accessories, second-hand toys, and more. However, those willing to rummage through piles of junk and knockoff products might be able to find some real steals like antique home decor, mid-century modern furniture, genuine china, silverware, and linen.

Twice a year around March and October, the town of Ciney hosts, over three days, one of the largest flea market and antique fairs in Belgium with over 700 exhibitors from Belgium, France, Germany, Holland or even Italy and 15,000 visitors.
If you plan to attend Ciney Puces et Salon des Antiquaires we strongly advise you to show up on the first day of the fair, as by the end of the day, most of the best stuff will be gone. Also, the “unpacking at the back of the truck”, the fair’s highlight, exclusively occurs on the first day of the fair.

The Ardingly International Antiques and Collectors Fair has a reputation as one of the UK’s antique fairs where quality European decorative items can be found. Up to 1,700 stalls selling thousands of goods – from fine antique furniture to delicate ceramics – can be found here.
With its convenient links to the capital, Ardingly International Antiques and Collectors Fair is a truly cosmopolitan antique event. Because it is located only one hour away from London, 12 miles from Gatwick, and only 90 minutes from Dover, this fair is a hot spot for local and national dealers and buyers who regularly attend the largest IACF event in the south of England.

#4. Bruges Zandfeesten (Belgium)
Considered one of Flanders’ largest antiques and second-hand market, the Bruges Zandfeesten attracts hundreds of vendors and thousands of bargain-hunters from far and wide. The overall venue spreads over a couple of miles, from Het Zand to Beursplein and the adjacent Koning Albert park.
Keep in mind that, if you want to grab a bargain or two, you’d better set your alarm clock early, as the Bruges Zandfeesten attracts droves of visitors. Walk the entire length of the fair and you will have clocked five kilometers without even noticing.

#3. Peterborough Festival of Antiques (UK)
Held at the East of England Showground twice a year towards the end of March and early in October, the Peterborough Festival of Antiques opened in 1999 and now attracts more than 1,700 stallholders and over 15,000 visitors from all over the world to each event.

The show features a spectacular array of antiques and collectibles for sale within four permanent buildings, a variety of trade marquees, and several acres of outdoor pitches. In the Main Arena, items such as jewelry, china, stamps, militaria, linen, and toys, in fact, anything old and collectible is all on display.

#2. La Réderie d’Amiens (France)
Held twice a year in April and in October, La Réderie d’Amiens is the third-largest event of its kind in France after La Grande Braderie de Lille and La Braderie du Canal Saint-Martin. Over 2,000 casual traders, car booters, and locals from all over France – 700 of which are professional antique dealers – exhibit their wares along 8 miles of streets in Amiens’ town center.
The Réderie d’Amiens is also a well-attended event, as it welcomes between 80,000 and 100,000 visitors. In fact, the Réderie is such a big deal, that all hotels in the city are fully booked out a week before the event!

#1. La Grande Braderie de Lille (France)
The Great Braderie of Lille needs no introduction. This event, whose first written trace goes back to the year 1127, is of an unparalleled magnitude, which extends over hundreds of kilometers of sidewalks and welcomes each year between two and three million visitors. With more than 10,000 exhibitors selling everything from trinkets to treasures, the Grande Braderie de Lille is the largest flea market in Europe and one of the most famous events in France and beyond.
With over 100km of vendors, the Braderie de Lille is divided into several sections: the smaller boulevards, where there are more friendly non-professional vendors (where you’ll find smaller antiques, records and books), and the larger streets where there is a huge selection of new ethnic items for sale, including fabulous art and paintings.
In addition to French antiques and vintage items, there are usually also a large number of professional vendors specializing in English antiques.
The Grande Braderie de Lille is a great place to pick up beautiful vintage and retro items in large quantities while immersing yourself in an atmosphere that reflects the city: warm, friendly and festive.

17. Trempelmarkt Nürnberg (Germany)
Twice a year, the entire old Bavarian town of Nürnberg completely transforms for the Trempelmarkt Nürnberg, making room for 4,000 vendors and their stalls and welcoming over 200,000 visitors. It is one of the largest flea markets in Germany, together with Münchner Flohmarkt auf der Theresienwiese, and arguably also the most eclectic. Since 1975, the Bric-à-Brac de Marsac has been the meeting point for collectors and fans of old objects from around France, the UK, Germany, Italy, and the Netherlands.
