Fall 2016 Vintage Market Days – The First Day

Yesterday I went early to the first day of Vintage Market Days of St Louis, fall 2016 edition. I was invited by my friend and VMD owner, Chanda, to go and take pictures and shop if I wanted. I usually have a hard time doing both, so I went and photographed first. I picked up a few goodies which I will share at the end. Since I shared a tour around a couple of fun things I saw in my Instagram Stories, but there was plenty that I didn’t record and wanted to share with you. So, instead of sharing a recap of the whole weekend sometime next week, I couldn’t wait and I’m going to share just the first day with you now! I’m heading back there later today and I’ll snap a few more pictures, but it is always fun to see the booth displays before tons of people invade. 🙂

It was hard finding booth names this time around, so if you recognize a booth, then please let me know in the comments and I’ll edit with their info!

If you want to see some of my past posts, I wrote from a vendor perspective on How to Sell Out: My Tips for Running a Booth at a Vintage Fair.

And from the other side, tips on scoring the best deal, St Louis Vintage Market Days: A Buyer’s Perspective.

This place had a few of those grocery or super market signs that you see in Joanna Gaine’s kitchen- I think they sold pretty well, because I saw at least 2 people carrying some out.

The next few were from Bella Vintage Home, whose booth was full of beautifully styled vignettes and items.

Aren’t these felt acorns adorable? They are actually a garland!

I adore the way she used fresh plants and the colors of natural wood, whites, grays, and that aqua blue repeated.

All of their furniture was legit vintage with original patina, and this enormous shop counter with all the pretty topiaries and large salvage pieces was their front display piece.

Up in the pavilion was Pheona’s Vintage Market…

Rescued Furnishings which had lots of painted pieces and a new table design they built that I hadn’t seen them bring anything like it before. Also under the Pavilion was my from John from JMG Design and he found this huge collection of adorable child shoe forms.

Down on the street was Vintage Farm with this gorgeous collection of brass trophies…

They also had this cute table set up with stone pigs and cabbages on the place settings.

Speaking of trophies, in a few booths down, I spotted this motherland of silver trophies…

In past years I have never seen so many trophies, and I have been to every VMD in St Louis.

I loved American Home & Farm‘s booth with their white, natural wood, and boxwood green theme.

I adore these wooden legs turned candle sticks all grouped tougher as a table centerpiece. What a statement!

I also loved this wooden tray they had filled with pumpkins, antlers, baby’s breath, and moss.

Rand Rosenthal Design Group always has a huge booth with tons of popular items like sugar molds, dough bowls, and so much more.

Another huge display is Spellbound Collections that was at the corner of the food truck alley. They were here this past spring with large windows assembled to form almost like a house. They even put wood flooring down and the inside feels cozy and like a actual store. I was gawking at this huge chandelier they had… can you even?!?!

A close by booth had these ceramic candle holders that made me which I had bought some.

Way down at the end there was a booth, Cabin Creek Mercantile that had a pair of snowshoes that I was wishing I could afford, and then this pretty hutch with gorgeous details.

Towards the very end was a booth that had cow hide rugs (a HUGE amount) and this BISON HEAD!

Don’t even worry, it was $2200.

Close by that booth that had this bed that stopped me in my tracks.

Then I saw she makes these linen ruffled coverlets, ruffled pillow cases and pillows. They are to.die.for.

And here I am with my loot on day 1! Not much- a vintage sled, a salvage wood piece I’ll use in a gallery wall, a copper mug, and some dried hydrangea bunches. I love this little spot all set up for photos at the entrance of the market- it is so perfect!

Come back next week for my peeks at day 2!

If you want to see more vintage eye candy, check out my tours around VMD this past spring, fall 2015, spring 2015, fall 2014, spring 2014, fall 2013.
