ABOUT THIS FAIR:

The Pavilions of Harrogate Decorative Antiques & Fine Art Fair returns to The Great Yorkshire Showground, from 21 – 23 October 2022.

This popular autumn event features more than 45 specialist dealers offering for sale a wide range of high-quality exhibits encompassing rare and decorative pieces from the from 1600 to the present day.

Says organiser Sue Ede from Cooper Fairs: “Buying antiques today appeals for many different reasons, from collectors looking to add to their personal collections to people seeking to individualise their homes with choice decorative pieces. Art and antiques have a lasting value and can be enjoyed and treasured for generations. For today’s generation, they are the ultimate in sustainable living”.

WHY YOU SHOULD VISIT THIS FAIR:

The Pavilions Fair is one of the most popular and consistently well attended fairs in the region and offers everything from fine paintings to Persian rugs, garden statuary, fine and named costume jewellery, traditional and mid-century modern furniture to eye-catching, ceramics, glass and objets d’art.

Premier Harrogate based dealerships Sutcliffe Fine Art and Walker Galleries will be exhibiting, showing a fine selection of traditional and contemporary works of art by both local and international artists. A painting by George Weatherill (1810-1890), often described as ‘The Turner of the North’, will be a major attraction with Walker Galleries. Titled ‘The East Cliff, Whitby’ this fine painted watercolour is a depiction of the coastal light over the cliffs at Whitby with fishing boats in the distance.

Fashionistas and collectors in search of jewellery will be delighted see a variety of fine and costume jewellery from a range of experts including Scarab Jewels with fine & bespoke jewellery, vintage watches & design & art deco objects, Shapiro & Co showing C19th & C20th British and European jewellery and silver including pieces by Faberge, Plaza Jewellery with C20th, antique, vintage jewellery, Billy Rae with fine antique jewellery, Saul Greenstein with fine antique jewellery, Sue Brown with jewels from the past; Harsfur with C20th Scandinavian jewllery and Candice Horley with named costume jewellery and accessories.

Showing furniture and decorative pieces will be Mark Buckley Antiques late Victorian and early 20th century walnut furniture and bronzes, and Melody Antiques with country furniture and collectables.

Returning with an exciting range of ceramics, specialist John Newton Antiques, showing Continental porcelain including silver-overlay pieces, plus East German studio pottery.
