When you’re sending someone a letter or a card, all you need is one Forever stamp. While many locations sell them by the book or sheet, in sets of 10 or 20, what if you need just one?
Can you buy one stamp at USPS, or anywhere else for that matter? And can you buy a single stamp using the Self-Service Kiosk? Here is the answer you seek!

You can purchase one stamp at USPS Post Offices, both at the counter and at the Self-Service Kiosks in 2023. Additionally, you can stop your mail carrier and ask them if they have any stamps on hand for sale; many do. You cannot purchase single stamps online at The Postal Store, but Stamps.com customers can.
To learn how much a single stamp will cost you currently and in the future, where you can buy just one single stamp, where you can print a single stamp, and much more, keep reading!
Currently, a single stamp at USPS costs 58 cents. However, that will soon be changing in July 2022.
Effective July 10, 2022, stamps will go up to 60 cents each.
Unfortunately, with the poor financial state of the Postal Service, prices must go up as part of Postmaster General Louis DeJoy’s 10-year Delivering for America plan.
The price already rose from 55 cents to 58 in August 2021, so less than a year later, the price is going up another two cents.
The list of places where you can buy one stamp at a time is surprisingly small, but there are a lot of Post Offices located all around the country for starters.
Naturally, this is the first place you should visit if you want to purchase just one stamp. To do so, you can just take yourself up to the front counter and ask for one.

However, what if you could avoid the front counter altogether?
In some locations, USPS has Self-Service Kiosks that allow you to purchase just one stamp at a time.
It’s very straightforward and easy to use, and buying stamps is even one of the main menu items.

There are a few retailers as well that sell stamps individually. They are as follows:
Now, the one thing to note about buying stamps at the UPS store is that they’re usually a bit more expensive than the retail rate.
Specifically, expect to pay between 60 cents and 80 cents each for a single stamp.
Unfortunately, USPS customers who use Click-N-Ship – the Postal Service’s online postage shop – cannot use it to purchase single stamps.
Also, you can’t purchase stamps individually in The Postal Store; the smallest stamp denomination that you can buy from The Postal Store is 10.
Now, if you are a Stamps.com customer, you know you have access to all the same services as in the Post Office, including single stamps.

However, this service costs $17.99 per month, so it might not be feasible for the everyday person (although they company does have a one-month trial membership).
Still, using Stamps.com, you can purchase a single stamp and print it out.
If you’re a Stamps.com member, you do have access to single stamp purchasing and printing.
You will need special paper to print your stamp – Stamps.com sells NetStamps paper, which can be used to print, peel, and stick stamps to the envelopes.
Conversely, you can also print enough postage for an envelope, right onto the envelope, using Stamps.com as well.
But again, this is only available to Stamps.com customers, who pay $17.99 per month for the service.
You can buy individual stamps at the UPS Store, but they are going to be slightly more expensive than the retail value at USPS.
Expect to pay between 60 and 80 cents each (and expect that rate to go up when the price of a Forever stamp goes up in July 2022).
