But the thing is, we would shop their invites even if they didn’t have all those helpful options. Their invitation designs (which you can match to your wedding website) range from rustic and casual to bold, modern, and formal. They also offer a seamless online experience as well, with the ability to print a QR code on all your invites that will link directly to your wedding website.

2. Joy

Cost: Free for unlimited digital invites; from $132 for 50 printed invitations

While Joy started off as one of our favorite free wedding websites, they’ve expanded to be so much more than that. Not only do they have one of the most user-friendly guest-list managers we’ve found, but they’ve since added a wedding registry and digital + printed wedding invites to their arsenal. You can now choose from hundreds of free digital and printed Save the Dates, invites, and ecards, which can match your Joy site or be completely customized.

Once you add your guest list you can send an unlimited number of digital invites and messages at no cost, which is a great, eco-friendly option (not to mention cost-effective) if you need to send guests important updates. They also make it super easy to add your wedding website url, password, and registry links right on the invites. Looking for something more traditional? Joy offers matching printed invitations through paperlust and paperculture as well.

3. Minted

Cost: $175 for 50 classic 5×7 invitations

Minted might be one of the more expensive options on this list, but when it comes to beautiful, handcrafted wedding invitations from independent designers, you end up paying a fraction of the price you would from a boutique store in the end. Styles range from classic to modern, with an array of added embellishments, luxe paper (including an eco-friendly option), and letterpress printing. The best part is that you can submit design requests to an associate, who can also help you with wedding invitation wording, invitation etiquette, and any other questions you may have.

While their classic invitations start at $175 for 50, If you’re looking to save even more, Minted recently introduced “all-in-one” invites, which are super cool. Basically, it’s an envelope, invite, and RSVP postcard all in one. With pricing starting at $185 for 50, this is a unique, affordable option that helps you save because you don’t have to add the price of an RSVP card. They’re also offering free custom envelopes with a white, all-script font that literally looks like a professional calligrapher designed them.

4. Etsy.com

Etsy is a bride-to-be’s dream site when it comes to cheap wedding invitations, programs, thank you cards, and everything in between. The site is a marketplace for local artists, designers, and creators of all kinds, with a huge selection of handmade invitation options. You can choose from inexpensive digital downloads or order custom invites printed and shipped to your door.

UnmeasuredEvent, VineWedding are just a couple of the shops offering beautiful digital invitation templates for only $9-$12+. You customize the invitation by communicating with the shop owner and once you’ve approved a proof, you’re provided with a high resolution PDF that you can use to print invitations at home, or take to a local printing shop. Either way, you can have as many invites printed as you want once you have the PDF file! If you’re looking for invites that are already printed for you, shops like TwistStationery (pictured above) offering completed suites with sale prices ranging from $120+ for 50 invites. While you’re on Etsy, check out their custom address stamps, which come in handy when sending out anything in your wedding timeline.

5. Walmart.com

Don’t knock the big box until you’ve checked their online inventory. Walmart.com offers a large selection of cheap wedding invitations, starting at $39 for 60 invites with envelopes. They have some lovely choices like this classic calligraphy invitations and these pretty gold marbled invites at $45 for 60 (pictured above), that may also be available for same-day delivery. Score one for procrastinators.

6. The Knot

Cost: Starting at $110 for 50 invitations

The Knot recently launched their line of wedding invitations, and we are so happy they did! In addition to some great designs, they’re offering several promotions which will help you save. Valid on purchases through the end of the year, they’re offering free reprints if you need to change your date. They’re also partnering with American Forests and planting a tree (with a $1.00 donation) with every stationery purchase. You can also choose three free samples before committing to an invitation design.

In terms of designs, they have over 300 to choose from, and you can also coordinate them with a matching wedding website.

7. Vistaprint.com

Cost: Starting at $50 for 50 invitations with envelopes

The pride of DIY business owners everywhere, Vistaprint.com practically pioneered and revolutionized the create-your-own anything when it comes to printing – and they don’t come up short when it comes to cheap wedding invitations, save the dates, thank you cards, and any other printed materials you may need while planning your wedding. Just like their other products, they make customizing and designing your invitation incredibly easy, with prepared templates that look fantastic. I love this flowery invitation and this artsy typography invite. When you’re done customizing, you simply place your order and pay online. If you are going to go the traditional route of mailing every invitation, Vistaprint is one of the cheapest options for customizing and ordering the invitations in a finished format.

8. Zazzle.com

Cost: Starting at $25 for 50 invitations with envelopes

Similar to Vistaprint, Zazzle.com allows you to customize your own wedding invitation from thousands of templates and order the finished product. You’ll find cheap wedding invitations on Zazzle to match any wedding theme, from elegant floral to snazzy art deco. Almost as large as their selection of templates is their price range, which starts around $25 and goes all the way up to $100 or more for 50 invites.

9. Paperless Post

Cost: While some basic designs are free, you will need to pay to send many of their wedding invitation designs, starting at $0.20/each.

It’s not always the cost of the invitations that pushes you over the edge. Postage stamps and printer ink can easily double the amount of money you pour into your invitations overall. Which is why it’s becoming more and more common to email your wedding invitations. With sites like paperlesspost.com, creating stunning and elegant email invitations has never been easier or more affordable.

The invitations on this site are beautiful, and feature designs for every bride-to-be’s taste. Many of the wedding invitations on the site are free to download, customize, and send out via email. For an additional cost, you can select invites by famous designers, (including Rifle Paper Co., Vera Wang, and even kate spade new york).

With that said, several of the options listed above (like Minted, Zola, and Joy) also offer free digital invites, so paying to send digital invites with a site like Paperless Post might not make as much sense as it did a few years ago.

In terms of pricing, they use “coins” for their paid versions. So for instance on this designer invite, it will cost 2 coins per recipient. So if you’re inviting 100 guests, you would need 200 coins, which you can buy as part of a package:

Paperless Post Pricing

  • 25 Coins for $12.00 ($0.40 each)
  • 100 Coins for $22.00 ($0.22 each)
  • 200 Coins for $35.00 ($0.18 each)
  • 400 Coins for $58.00 ($0.15 each)
  • 1000 Coins for $115.00 ($0.12 each)

For 100 guests, that would be $35. And even if digital invites aren’t always what you want for a wedding invite, they are a great option for an elopement, rehearsal dinner, or even a Save the Date.

Also, many of their designs are offered digitally and in print — so you could order printed invitations and matching envelopes to send to your more traditional guests (i.e. grandparents) while sending an email invitation to your more tech-savvy friends and family members.
