The Peterborough Festival of Antiques will celebrate its 20th anniversary with its largest ever antiques event this Easter at the iconic East of England Showground and this is the organizations 47th year of organizing Antique Fairs.

From humble beginnings, the Festival of Antiques is now the largest event of its kind in Europe and attracts antiques collectors and vendors from around the world each year. Now standing at an impressive 9600 square metres and full of treasures from all over the UK, USA, Japan, Australia and Europe, visitors with an eye for quality pieces from yesteryear have been flocking to the Festival of Antiques for two decades.

Featuring a mix of individual exhibitors and antique dealers arriving from the four corners of the globe, seekers of vintage collectables, world-famous ceramic names from the past and luxurious jewellery are sure to find a piece to pique their interest in the several specialised areas that span the showground.

With the main arena containing antique jewellery, china, stamps, militaria, linen and toys, the NatWest arena displays larger pieces such as decorative furniture and equestrian items.

Well-known names in ceramic history can be discovered in the exhibition hall whereas the Cambridge Suite is a treasure trove of high-value and rare items that have been lovingly preserved for decades.

Event director, Simon Evans says, “Our 20 year anniversary is a fitting milestone for what will be our largest event ever. We have grown steadily over the years and have seen tens of thousands of visitors hunting for new discoveries during that time. This Easter’s show will be a special one for us and the many people travelling from far and wide to attend. With many visitors flying in from as far afield as the United States and Japan to be at the Festival, we can’t wait to see this year’s antiques that will greet them.

For a breath of fresh air, visitors can also enjoy a plethora of outdoor trade marquees, stalls and exhibitor pitches with traders and dealers from all over Europe showcasing their antique finds with everything from chic seventies furniture to agricultural equipment from bygone eras

With two Festival of Antiques events running each year, the Easter event marks the 20th anniversary of the fair and begins the two-day celebration of all things antique on Good Friday 19th of April 2019 with gates opening at 07:00 am for those keen to track down a must-have piece of homeware history or another antique find.

Saturday the 20th of April sees a later start to the final day of the fair, with gates opening at 9 am for event visitors.

A great day out for the whole family, parking is completely free of charge, and there are an array of tempting treats and refreshments available to help you refuel before heading off to discover what else this unique and world-famous event has to offer.

New for 2019 – the layout of the festival has been revised to accommodate the additional private marquees alongside the extra rear hardstanding area.
