Vintage Event In Kent
Maidstone Vintage Toy Fair is held on the west bank of the River Medway in central Maidstone in the historical county of Kent. Maidstone is a few miles south of the section of the M20 that runs between Aylesford and Hollingbourne.
You are watching: Steam and Electric
The vintage toy fair has plenty on offer, including Scale Electric Trains, Models, Die-Cast Cars, Toys, Dolls and Teddy Bears. Stalls and tables display their goods in the large main hall.
The vintage toy fair is held around five times per year at the Lockmeadow Complex in Maidstone and is by far the largest and most popular of its kind in Kent. You can expect to find a great selection of collectables from years gone by. Be on the lookout for Model Train and Model Engineering bargains.
The event began in 1980 and has gained popularity with every passing year. Geoff and Mike, the organisers, do a great job of bringing together traders and fellow enthusiasts and never fail to deliver a great day out. They are both easily available for bookings and general enquiries by phone.

Entry to the event is £2.50 and opens from 9.00am to 2.30pm.
It will come as no surprise that there is plenty of accommodation around Maidstone. So here is the closest, 3-star just for reference. Grange Moor Hotel, located on St Michael’s Road is ideal for one or two night visitors. It is nothing fancy and breakfast is not included. However, free parking is available and it is a short 10-15 minute walk away from the Toy Fair.
Getting to Maidstone is easy enough. Use the A229 if coming from the south coast (Hastings area). Use the M25, M26 and M20 if coming from other areas. Exit the M20 at junction 6 and head south in toward Maidstone itself. Look out for Fremlin Walk shopping centre on the left as you get into town, follow the road, keeping the river to your right until you can turn right over the river onto the A229 (road markings WMALL TON). Get in the left hand lane as you cross the bridge and filter left when you see the sign for Crown Court, Market and Lockmeadow.
If you are traveling by train Maidstone West is the closest station. Other stations, within walking distance are Maidstone East and Maidstone Barracks.
Buses run to Tonbridge Road. Use services 6, 7, 8, 70, 71, 72, 74, 75, 76 and 85.

Travel out of town and enjoy an afternoon or morning at historic Leeds Castle in Broomfield. The moated castle was originally a Norman stronghold and is now a proud part of British history.
Held every few months throughout the year.
