If you love nothing more than rooting around rails to discover a new treasured piece of clothing or meandering around a food market to find new flavours, Bath has you covered. From weekly staples to annual events, Bath’s market scene offers a one-of-a-kind shopping experience with more independent traders than you can shake a stick at.

Green Park Station

Many of Bath’s regular markets take place in the historic Green Park Station. Built in the 1860s, Green Park Station was originally called Queen Square Station, and was a working railway station until the 1960s. The derelict site was restored as a retail and market space in the 1980s, and has provided a space to support local businesses ever since. Green Park Station hosts an array of regular markets, including Bath Farmers’ Market, Bath Flea Market and Bath Vintage and Antiques Market.

Bath Farmers’ Market

Bath is home to the UK’s first farmers’ market, which was established in 1997. Every Saturday morning at Green Park Station, you will find high-quality fresh, seasonal produce at a fair price, sold to you directly by the producers. Pick up local cheeses, organic fruit and vegetables, artisanal breads, fresh meat and lots more, almost all of which comes from within a 40-mile radius of the city.

Bath Flea Market

Held on the first Sunday of every month at Green Park Station, Bath Flea Market offers antiques and collectables including watches, jewellery, records, books, furniture, fine art and vintage clothing. As you explore the market, you can enjoy sounds from the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s, courtesy of the market’s resident DJ.

Bath Vintage and Antiques Market

The vibrant Bath Vintage and Antiques Market offers a great-value, sustainable way to purchase high-quality items, including furniture, fashion, prints, sculptures and interiors. You can find the popular market at Green Park Station on the last Sunday of every month.

Bath Contemporary Artists Fair

Held on the second Sunday of every month, Bath Contemporary Artists Fair is another of Green Park Station’s regular markets. Offering fine art, photography, sculpture, textiles and much more, the team are committed to bringing the best of contemporary art from the city and beyond, right to the heart of Bath.

Bath Abbey Quarter Market

The friendly and creative Bath Abbey Quarter Market can be found in Abbey Green on the last Sunday of every month. Meet amazing artisans and artists from the south west, sample some fabulous food, and soak up the atmosphere of the city’s popular outdoor market.

Walcot Antique and Flea Market

The Walcot Antique and Flea Market has been a feature of Walcot Street for over 40 years. Found in Bath Cattle Market every Saturday, the market offers antiques, bric-a-brac, curiosities, vintage clothing, second-hand tools, records, jewellery, and other fascinating finds.

Bath Christmas Market

Bath’s largest and most well-known event, Bath Christmas Market, will return to the city in 2022. Soak up the festive sights, smells and sounds as you wander through the city’s picturesque Georgian streets and squares, and discover local artwork, handmade Christmas decorations, bespoke jewellery, homewares, festive food and drink and much more from local traders.
